Can a carer go on a break from a live-in shift?

Posted on March 24, 2020

Carers require daily ‘breaks’ from their work.

‘Stay at home’ guidance means that carers should only leave home for the 4 allowed activities including shopping for essentials and on type of exercise a day. Outside of these activities, breaks should be taken within the home

You can discuss the routine for your carers breaks directly with them and suggest ways to ensure they continue to feel rested and able to work, even with the stay at home instructions.
