If you start to experience symptoms whilst in the care recipients home you should inform the family immediately and discuss if alternative arrangements can be made for care.
Guidance says that if you live with a vulnerable person you should try to find somewhere else for them to stay for 14 days, so therefore if suitable you should leave the customer’s home without using public transport, and follow the self-isolation guidance in your own home.
If you are unable to leave the client’s home, you should make sure you avoid any contact with others and isolate within the home whilst other arrangements are made. Ensure you follow the Do’s and Don’t from the NHS here.
