Like any workers, regardless of contract type, carers need to take breaks in order to do their best work.
It is up to you and your carers to decide what break schedule will work best, and how they can be taken.
Typically live-in carers have 2 hours of breaks per day, although often these are accumulated and all taken in a single day. While many clients coordinate family visits to cover these breaks, others book shorter visits from a second carer to ensure professional support is on hand at all times.
